A Little Country in the City

According to my family, we live in the big city. We try to make the most of it, and actually really enjoy where we live. We have a wood stove that is our sole source of heat in the winter (which is a big suprise to our friends around here!). Logan has become quite the helper for Dan with stacking the wood this year.

He alternates between stacking, and building things with the wood, of course.

The rhubarb fresh from picking.
This is my last batch of rhubard jam for the year. We love the taste and how inexpensive it is...but we are sure it's not that good for you! It really should be called sugar jam with some rhubarb!

We do like where we live, but sure, we would desire a little more country in our life. We would like a little space between the neighbors (who are great, by the way) and some big mountains (like we're both used to) around us. We'd also like a river. Chickens and goats would be awesome (this is Sarah typing- Dan has another opinion on the matter). Fresh eggs and goat's milk would just be soooo cool. And think of all the great chores for the children!! But, for now, we will enjoy gardening and wood stacking and continue to dream of chickens and goats and rivers and mountains in the country.
