Our family had a very early day today. Macy had to be at the hospital at 6 am to get tubes put in her ears. Logan was NOT a happy camper about getting up when it was still dark. He just couldn't understand why in the world we had to wake up so early.

Macy was a champ for the surgery. She obviously was a little scared. Who can blame her with a bunch of strangers dressed in blue trying to put a creepy mask on her and waking up to strangers and a dull pain in her ears. She recovered quickly, was a little upset with us for leaving her with them, and very glad to go home. The doctor said that Macy's ears are pretty underdeveloped. They are typical for a 6 month old. The eardrums are in a different position than they should be at her age. We will have to get a good hearing screen when she is older to determine if it affects how she hears. This is just another page in Macy's book of quirkiness. I was holding her after her surgery and thanking God for our little blessing. She truly is a gift from the Lord.

She is doing remarkably well today. As soon as she got home she ate a bowl of oatmeal, half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a glass of milk. She is back to her normal self. She is absolutely refusing to wear her glasses and we think it's probably because her ears are sore.

Logan, on the other hand, wanted to go back to bed as soon as we got home. It seems like the morning might have been hardest on him!
